Festivus for the restivus

December 20, 2008

I like Christmas but it’s a double-edged sword.  I like the relaxing time that comes with the holidays, the food, the smells, the warmth.  On the other hand, those triple A personalities taking Christmas out to task and making an entire production out of something supposedly fun and casual, just kinda ruins it for me.

That’s why it’s probably good to remember that Christmas more than just presents-shopping, food preparations, and stress.  It should be more, but has been reduced to so much less.

Which is why it might be timely to bring back festivus - for the restivus!  The pole, the airing of grievances, the feat of strength!  Oh Seinfeld …
