The thing is, I don’t dislike Guess Marciano. In fact, I am a huge fan of their jeans. But there’s always this element of trashiness in their ads that is almost synonymous to the brand. I’m not saying that every brand can be as socially charged as Benetton or creative like Gap’s, so let’s go with the label’s fixation on buxom blondes. Past celebrity endorsers include the notorious Paris Hilton, Anna-Nicole Smith, and Jordan aka Katie Price (look her up). I suppose if you mean to sell sex, you might as well stick with it.Â
So going retro might seem like a step towards classiness, but count on Marciano to sneak in the pink bras, unbuttoned shirt, and that slit up the thigh. And they claim to have been influenced by the French? The French? They would never!
