One more thing to recycle: vintage leather belts

December 23, 2008

A lot of people are concerned that the current economic insecurities have curbed people’s appetites for environmentally conscious (and pricey) products.  Obviously that is not the case if more things like these are getting recycled. We’ve seen recycled gym equipment turned into everyday bags, old car parts turned into art, and now vintage leather belts are turned into floor tiles.  At $75 per square foot, this is no cheapskate recycled junk.  The belts are laid on reconstituted leather backing and secured with water-based glue.
