“Shocking” images courtesy of 1930s German illustrations

Bring on the femininists and sociologists, and a book can probably get written on how all these house appliances are symbols of sexual repression, and the shocks represent some form of impending violence.  I’m not even joking here.  I mean, I have no idea if 1930s in Germany can be associated with anything other than the rise of Hitler, but let’s keep up with today’s theme of speculation and say so, shall we?  Because clearly, there is something subversive and menacing about those murdering electrocutions, isn’t there?  As to the allusion on the lack of safety in your own house?  Look there, can any activity be performed without the danger of some crack in the system that either accidentally kills you, or purposely terminate you?

Which reminds me of those lovely suicidal bunnies.  What kind of political statement are they making?
