What if the big three switched from making cars to making vintage car inspired appliances?

Instead of taking government bail-outs for billions of dollars (last time I looked, roughly 20 billions from the US and 4 billions from the Canadian government), perhaps the American auto makers can find something more, profitable to produce that doesn’t require taxpayer subsidies?

I know the dollar amount involved in this business is perhaps a tad smaller than selling cars and vans, but at least they are able to produce something original and creative, and put out something that people would actually want.  They can probably recycle a lot of their production facilities, and use the same detailing techniques to achieve something much more aesthetically pleasing.
